Pioneer School Administration

  • Welcome to Pioneer Elementary…We are the OWLS. First of all, let me introduce myself; Dr. Sarah Hatfield. I was born and raised across the river in Ontario. After graduating from OHS, I went on to TVCC and received my Associates degree, then on to Eastern Oregon University where I received my bachelors in secondary education. After teaching for two years in Payette, I decided to get my Masters in curriculum and instruction from Northwest Nazarene. I took a new job at Notus Jr/Sr High, and taught there for 12 years… but I didn’t just teach. I also coached volleyball, basketball and was an advisor for student council, yearbook, and Business Professionals of America. I eventually made the decision to go into administration and I received my Specialist degree and Doctorate in Education Leadership. Following that, I moved to Craigmont, ID and became the K-12 principal, for 4 years, before becoming the superintendent and elementary principal, which I did for 3 years. I learned a lot living up north, but it was time to move home and start a new challenge. My daughter and I are super excited to be here in Weiser. Within the first few weeks, it was obvious that Pioneer Elementary is home to not only myself, but the students and staff. Pioneer focuses on reading and math curriculum, but our students also have the opportunity to experience music, PE, computer, science, and art during their time at Pioneer. Even though we have high academic expectations, we also take pride in our students being kind, respectful, and honest.  Working with these students, parents, and staff is a joy! Remember “It’s always a great day to be a Pioneer Owl”.
